Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs data analysis, report generation, and technical consultation using technologies such as ultrasound assessments, vibration analysis, and oil analysis, and other contextual data collected from remote sensor applications.
  • Uses data analysis tools to identify impactful asset risks to influence customer maintenance teams to leverage opportunities to reduce machine downtime, reactive labor, and failures.
  • Evaluates machine information, production costs, and component specifications to direct proactive maintenance and reliability solutions to customers.
  • Analyzes data to help determine trends, estimate component remaining useful life and provide feedback and recommendations to preempt failures and prevent downtime/reduce cost.
  • Utilizes arrays of remotely gathered sensor data and technical documentation to detect, identify, and isolate specific component degradation and its specific failure mode prior to serious damage or actual failure.
  • Leads ongoing cadence calls and responds to escalated technical and strategic inquiries from customers via telephone and platform communication venues.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for condition monitoring team members, system derived alerts, and escalated customer inquiries, providing internal technical and strategic program consultation.
  • Develops, authors, and effectively presents information to management and customers, including holistic asset health reports, critical technical findings, cost avoidance analysis, and root cause failure analysis.
  • Communicates summaries of actionable recommendations quickly and accurately through translation of technical, statistical, and predictive data analytics into front-line action planning.
  • Connects directly with customer front-line technicians to guide troubleshooting, supporting data collection, and provision of OJT support in corrective actions.
  • Leads review of data collection device installation reporting, data validation, and thresholding breach points for the set-up and success of remote condition monitoring platforms as a “first-pass” to drive customer success and accuracy with condition monitoring programs.
  • Provides expert insights and serves as a subject matter expert in the automation of analysis through the development of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learnings, and other algorithmic analysis practices.
  • Develops, delivers, and continuously improves upon customer facing training programs in cohort with Customer Success Managers, technical writers, and device vendors.
  • Provides excellent customer service and follow-up through escalations of ad-hoc and regularly scheduled customer meetings, supporting Condition Monitoring Experts of all levels.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and OJT in both technical and professional skillsets to all levels of Condition Monitoring Experts.
  • Assists Reliability 360 services team in program development and success in institution of condition monitoring programs affiliated with comprehensive maintenance contract locations.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:

 

Essential KSAs:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school and 6 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced understanding of industrial manufacturing environment and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Expert level understanding of machine diagnostics and complex operating systems.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

 

Desirable KSAs:

  • Working toward Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Level I certification in Ultrasound, Thermo/Infrared and Vibration.
  • ISO CAT I certification in Lubrication/Oil Analysis.
  • ISO CAT III certification in Vibration.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:                                                                                                 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear.  The employee is also required to use a telephone with headset for verbal troubleshooting, frequent use of a standard keyboard and computer to document calls in a ticketing system, and occasional use of other office equipment.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 30 pounds.  The employee is occasionally required to sit for long periods and use close and color vision.  Work is typically performed in a moderately noisy business office.
